DESCRIPTION:<p>The journal of&nbsp\;<em>Analytic Teaching and Philosophical Praxis</em>&nbsp\;(formerly&nbsp\;<em>Analytic Teaching</em>) seeks article submissions that explore the transformative potential of Liberation Philosophy. Liberation philosophy continues to challenge the place and purpose of traditional philosophy\, altering in a radical way the very praxis of philosophy as a discipline and way of life.&nbsp\; Coming to fruition out of the struggles in Latin America against the cultural imperialism of the West\, liberation philosophy provides another model for understanding and enacting the call of wisdom.&nbsp\; This CFP is in conjunction with the conference on Bartolom&eacute\; de Las Casas to be held Oct. 12-13\, 2012 at Viterbo University\, and seeks to expand the purview of the conference into the larger domains of liberation philosophy and liberation theology.&nbsp\;<em>AT&amp\;PP&nbsp\;</em>is interested in essays that explore the continuing relevance of liberation philosophy in the fields of education\, politics\, theology and ethics.&nbsp\; Possible topics for consideration include but are not limited to:&nbsp\;</p>\n<ul>\n<li>&nbsp\;the challenge of liberation philosophy</li>\n<li>&nbsp\;liberation philosophy and/or liberation theology and the environment</li>\n<li>&nbsp\;philosophy for children and liberation philosophy</li>\n<li>&nbsp\;the difference between liberation philosophy and liberation theology</li>\n<li>&nbsp\;liberation philosophy and social movements in Latin America</li>\n<li>&nbsp\;the relationship between critical theory/phenomenology and liberation philosophy</li>\n<li>&nbsp\;the analysis of a specific thinker in the area of liberation philosophy (e.g. Dussel or Freire)</li>\n<li>&nbsp\;how is liberation theology/liberation philosophy embodied in artworks or other cultural practices</li>\n<li>how is liberation philosophy pertinent to the U.S. experience</li>\n<li>what is the relationship between liberation philosophy and American (Anglo-analytic) philosophy</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><br>Articles can be submitted in either English\, or Spanish or Portuguese&nbsp\;<br><br>Direct submissions to: Dr. Jason J. Howard\, Chief Editor\,&nbsp\;<em>Analytic Teaching and Philosophical Praxis</em>\, Viterbo University\, e-mail:&nbsp\;<a target="_blank">jjhoward@viterbo.edu</a>.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;<br><br>Submissions should follow a standardized reference format (APA or MLA\, people using Chicago Manual of Style should format references as endnotes).&nbsp\; Articles should be approximately 4000-8000 words\, e-mailed as a word document or RTF\, and prepared for &lsquo\;blind-review&rsquo\; (with author&rsquo\;s name and institutional affiliation appearing on a separate page).<br><br>The deadline for article submissions is Oct 1\, 2012.&nbsp\; Accepted articles should appear in Vol. 33 of&nbsp\;<em>Analytic Teaching and Philosophical Praxis</em>&nbsp\;in spring of 2013.&nbsp\;<br><br><em>Analytic Teaching and Philosophical Praxis&nbsp\;</em>(ATPP) is an on-line\, open access\, peer-reviewed\, academic journal published out of Viterbo University (La Crosse\, WI) dedicated to exploring the deeper educational\, political\, and ethical implications of philosophy.
