DESCRIPTION:<p>The Yale Philosophy Department is pleased to host the Joyce Mitchell Cook Conference on Friday and Saturday\, December 4th and 5th\, 2015.&nbsp\; Dr. Cook was the first African American woman to earn a PhD in Philosophy in the US\, which she earned at Yale.&nbsp\; The conference brings together an esteemed group of scholars to honor the life and work of Dr. Cook\, including a keynote by Dr. George Yancy. &nbsp\;</p>\n<p>The conference will be held on the Yale University Old Campus\, in Linsly-Chittenden Hall\, Rooms 102 and 211\, 63 High Street\, New Haven\, CT 06511.&nbsp\; The conference is free and open to the public.</p>\n<p>The Joyce Mitchell Cook Conference is committed to accessibility.
