DESCRIPTION:<p>The Society for Philosophy in the Contemporary World (SPCW)\, in conjunction with the American Philosophical Association Central Division annual meetings\, invites papers for sessions relating to the themes of Oppression\, Religion\, and Liberation.</p>\n<p>The title of our session is &ldquo\;<strong>Religion: Oppressive or Libratory?</strong>&rdquo\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;These sessions will take place at the New Orleans Hilton February 20-23\, 2013 in New Orleans.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;Each speaker will be allowed a maximum of 30 minutes for presentation and 30 minutes for Q and A.</p>\n<p><em>Note: The Society for Philosophy in the Contemporary World does not subscribe to any particular approach or school of philosophy.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;Any style of philosophy is welcome.</em></p>\n<p>Papers prepared for blind review should not exceed 3000 words and should be submitted electronically to Dr. Tim Christie at&nbsp\;twchrist@mail.ubc.ca</a>&nbsp\;no later than&nbsp\;<strong>August 10\, 2012</strong>.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;In a separate file\, please include your identifying information (paper&rsquo\;s title\, author(s)\, institutional association (if any)\, mailing address\, e-mail address\, and short abstract).&nbsp\;&nbsp\;The e-mail subject heading should read &lsquo\;<strong>SPCW-APA</strong>&rsquo\;.</p>\n<p>For more specific information about the Central APA 2013 sessions on the themes of Oppression\, Religion and Liberation\, please e-mail&nbsp\;twchrist@mail.ubc.ca.&nbsp\;For general information about SPCW please go to:</p>
