DESCRIPTION:<p>The Center for the Study of Citizenship at Wayne State University is&nbsp\;celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2013.&nbsp\;For our anniversary&nbsp\;conference we invite you to submit an abstract for a paper that&nbsp\;discusses how your scholarship deepens understandings of the meaning&nbsp\;of citizenship.</p>\n<p>The perspective of the conference\, as always\, is global\,&nbsp\;interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary and proposals on any aspect&nbsp\;of citizenship studies are welcome from scholars working in any&nbsp\;discipline or interdisciplinary field. Preference will be given to&nbsp\;those papers that address the conference theme.<br>&nbsp\;<br>The best papers will be considered for publication in a peer-reviewed&nbsp\;volume in the Wayne State University Press book series\, &ldquo\;Citizenship&nbsp\;Studies\,&rdquo\; edited by the Center&rsquo\;s director\, Marc Kruman.<br><br>Abstracts of no more than 500 words are welcomed for consideration.&nbsp\;Proposals should be submitted to the Center&rsquo\;s Research Associate\,&nbsp\;Helen Callow helen.callow@wayne.edu</a>&nbsp\;along with a short biography&nbsp\;(50 words) no later than October 15\, 2012. Both panel proposals and&nbsp\;individual submissions are welcome. Those interested in submitting&nbsp\;panel proposals can use H-Citizenship (http://www.h-net.org/~citizen</a>)&nbsp\;to locate scholars with compatible interests.<br><br>Some scholarships will be available for international scholars to&nbsp\;help defray their travel costs. These funds will be distributed on a&nbsp\;competitive basis. Remote presentation of papers and remote&nbsp\;participation will also be available.</p>\n<p>Questions should be directed to Marc W.
