Are you a current PhD student or recent PhD graduate interested in applying for a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Philosophy? Do you have a postdoctoral project in mind that is a good fit with a mentor from the Department of Philosophy at the University of Sheffield? Then we welcome you to our Philosophy Postdoctoral Fellowship Open Day! Spaces are available for attendance both in person and online, but please register your interest ASAP by completing the google form available via the External Site button on this page. Limited funding is available for tea/coffee, lunch, and travel expenses for attendees without another source of travel funding. 9.30-10 Talk + Q&A from the Arts Research Hub about various postdoctoral schemes, eligibility and application requirements, and support offered by the University of Sheffield

10-11 Academic Talk 1 + Q&A by current postdoc, Laurenz Casser, with commentary by Komarine Romdenh-Romluc

11-11.15 Tea/Coffee Break

11.15-12.15 Academic Talk 2 + Q&A by current postdoc, James Brown, with commentary by Jules Holroyd

12.15-12.45 Q&A with 3 current postdocs about their experience applying for postdocs and conducting their funded research

12.45-13.45 Catered Lunch

13.45-14.30 Postdoc Proposal Workshop: 5 minute presentation + 5 minute discussion of prospective applicants’ proposal ideas

14.30-15.30 Academic Talk 3 + Q&A by current postdoc, Henry Schiller, with commentary by Rosanna Keefe

15.30-15.45 Coffee Break

15.45-16.15 Meetings between prospective postdoctoral applicants and proposed mentors. For online attendees and some in-person attendees, these may need to be rearranged for a more suitable date/time.
