Graduate Student Workshop in Traditional Metaphysics at the National University of Ireland, Galway


The Philosophy Department of the National University of Ireland, Galway, invites submissions to a Graduate Student Workshop in traditional metaphysics (the history of metaphysics as well as approaches continuous with it) focusing on the central notions causality and freedom. The purpose of the workshop is to bring together graduate scholars engaging metaphysical, epistemological and moral issues surrounding freedom and causality in the history of metaphysics broadly understood. Submissions can include: relevant topics from ancient, medieval scholastic or early modern metaphysics, Kant or post-Kantian metaphysics, metaphysics of process, contemporary metaphysics (e.g. engagements with essentialism, intrinsicality, causal powers, or modal notions), etc.
