CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

European Consortium for Political Research Conference (ECPR), University of
Glasgow, 3 - 6 September 2014.
ECPR Kantian Standing Group
Section: Kant and Kantian Constructivism in Moral and Political Philosophy
Section chairs: Sorin Baiasu (Keele University and University of Vienna) and
Alice Pinheiro Walla (Trinity College Dublin)

Panel: "Constructing Roles and Institutions Kant’s Moral and Political Thought”

The ECPR Kantian Standing Group is now inviting abstract proposals for the
panel "Constructing Roles and Institutions in Kant’s Moral and Political
Thought” chaired by Garrath Williams (Lancaster University) and Alice
Pinheiro Walla (Trinity College Dublin).

The panel "Constructing Roles and Institutions” will focus on how human
activity can “construct” intelligible realities and how Kant’s Moral and
political thought can help us better understand these practical phenomena.
One clear example is the institution of private property, but the panel will
also explore other domains where one can speak of "mine", such as status
relationships, personal relationships and roles that form the building
blocks of institutions and organisations.

The panel welcomes contributions focusing on Kantian exegesis, exploring
debates within contemporary Kantian philosophy (or both) and critical
approaches to Kantian constructivism.

Please submit abstracts of no more than 250 words to: [email protected] no
later than February 13, 2014.
