On October 1st and 2nd, Brandeis University will host a conference to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the publication of One-Dimensional Man, the most famous book of former Brandeis faculty member and Frankfurt School memberHerbert Marcuse (1898-1979).  The conference will explore Marcuse's intellectual and political legacy and coincides with our recent archival discovery of an early draft of One-DimensionalMan, donated to Brandeis by Marcuse himself.  Keynote addresses will be given by distinguished Frankfurt School scholars Martin Jay and Douglas Kellner.
