General Information

The annual UAMS Intensive Workshop in Health Care Ethics offers an updated introduction to the basic concepts and issues in medical ethics on the first day, and special attention to a pressing topic in medicine and humanities on the second day. This year’s special topic is Health Policy Hits Home. The course will provide participants with a deeper understanding of and the tools and recommendations necessary to ethically integrate issues raised by new institutional, state and federal health care regulations into their role as a health care practitioner.

Day One

  • Identify, analyse, and begin to resolve emerging dilemmas using ethical reasoning methods.

Day Two

  • Understand the ethical issues raised by new institutional, state, and federal regulations.
  • Describe the impact that new regulations may have on medical practice in the region.
