The annual UAMS Intensive Workshop in Health Care Ethics offers an updated introduction to the basic concepts and issues in medical ethics on the first day, and special attention to a pressing topic in medicine and humanities on the second day. This year’s special topic is Health Policy Hits Home. The course will provide participants with a deeper understanding of and the tools and recommendations necessary to ethically integrate issues raised by new institutional, state and federal health care regulations into their role as a health care practitioner.
Day One
- Identify, analyse, and begin to resolve emerging dilemmas using ethical reasoning methods.
Day Two
- Understand the ethical issues raised by new institutional, state, and federal regulations.
- Describe the impact that new regulations may have on medical practice in the region.
