The aim of the Building Bridges Graduate Conference is to open up a space for interdisciplinary dialogue over a particular area of research. The focus of this year’s conference will be on the topic of fear. The hope is that by offering this space for graduate students to engage other disciplines’ deliberations on fear, we will better understand its nature and influence, positive and negative. To this end, submissions from any and all disciplines are encouraged.

Submission Deadline: September 5, 2014

Submission Guidelines:

  • Papers/Abstracts should be prepared for blind review. Include name, contact information, title of paper and institutional affiliation in the body of the submission email for reference.
  • Abstract submissions for papers/presentations should be between 500-750 words.
  • Paper submissions should not exceed 3000 words. An abstract of no longer than 150 words should be included with the body of the paper and will not be counted towards the 3000 word limit.
  • Papers/Abstracts should be submitted in .doc/docx or .pdf format.
  • Submissions should be directed to Matthew Williams at [email protected].

Select papers presented at the conference will be published in a special Building Bridges edition of Kinesis, the Graduate Journal of Philosophy. Papers from all disciplines will be considered.
