Call for papers

This call is addressed to graduate students and doctors in philosophy who finished their PhDs during the last 3 years. Submitted papers should address some philosophical issue and be written in English, Catalan or Spanish. There is no restriction regarding topics or areas in philosophy. We strongly encourage submissions from women and other groups historically underrepresented in the discipline.

Every paper accepted will be presented at the workshop (45 minutes), followed by critical comments (15 minutes) and an open discussion (30 minutes). Those interested can take part in the workshop as speakers, commentators, or both.

Speakers

Every applicant should send to [email protected] an extended abstract of 2000 to 2500 words, sketching the claims defended in the paper and the arguments provided in their support. To ensure blind refereeing, applicants must send their personal data – full name, e-mail address, title of their contribution, their affiliation, and a short CV – in a separate document.

Every paper will be evaluated by two members of the scientific committee, and the final selection will be made by the organizing committee.

Commentators

Those interested in elaborating a comment should send their personal data – full name, e-mail address, and their affiliation – to [email protected], together with a description of the main areas attracting their interest.

Deadlines

Proposals for participation can be submitted until October 15th, 2014. Applicants will receive an answer by November 15th, 2014. Selected speakers must send the full text of their papers before December 8th, 2014.

Organization

The XVII TIF is organized by Andreu Ballús, Pablo Couto, and Pablo Gutiérrez, under the auspices of LOGOS, and with the collaboration of the Facultat de Filosofia i Lletres of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
