INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ANNOUNCEMENT :
“OBJECT AND PERSON: Transhumanism, Animalism, Metaphysics of the person, and Emergence of the Self”
[Objet et Personne ; Transhumanisme, Animalisme, Métaphysique de la personne, et Emergence du soi”]
16th, 17th and 18th of October 2014
Aix-Marseille University, Aix en Provence (France)
Organization: Jean-Maurice Monnoyer
Coordination: Nil Hours & Bruno Langlet
SEMa is organizing an international symposium on the topic of Object and Person in contribution to the profound and overall renewal of the relatively technical metaphysics sub-field of personal identity, which has in turn grown to include personal ontology.
In speaking of personal ontology, the dividing line between object and person (the question of personhood) is both precise and vast, and for decades, in many ways, the evidence of the person has not been really questioned, remaining a rough concept that deserves more examination.
