Topic: "Varieties of Rationality"

Submissions of high quality in any area of philosophy will be considered. This year we encourage papers focused especially on the topic of Rationality.

Rationality has a central place in areas as diverse as ethics, decision theory, philosophy of science, philosophy of action, epistemology, philosophy of mind, and feminist philosophy. The idea has also been of paramount importance to a variety of figures throughout the history of philosophy, including Aristotle, Aquinas, Leibniz, Kant, Hegel, Marx, Nietzsche, Weber, Habermas, Wittgenstein, and Kuhn, to name just a few. What is it to be rational? Is there a formal model for the behavior of rational agents? Is rationality an individual or a collective notion? This conference aims to explore the varieties of rationality at play within philosophy, their connections, and their differences.

We are please to announce that our conference keynote speaker will be Dr. Cristina Bicchieri.
