This is a workshop intended to examine the links between occasionalism and other theories of causality and discuss the theoretical virtues and weaknesses of the theories in question. There will be three main sections as follows:

1-Theories of Causality and Occasionalism in Islamic Intellectual History

2-Theories of Causality in Late Medieval And Early Modern Europe in relation to Occasionalism

3-Contemporary Theories of Causality and Occasionalism

Ayman Shahadih (London University SOAS)

Alparslan Acikgenc (Yildiz Technical University)

Edward Moad (Qatar University) 

Faculty members, graduate students, independent scholars are eligible to apply to this workshop, but priority will be given to the PhD candidates and scholars who have been already doing or would like to make research on relevant topics. Partial funding is available.

The results will be announced after a peer-review process.
