The Berlin School of Mind and Brain – in cooperation with the Center for
Mind, Brain and Cognitive Evolution (Ruhr-Universität Bochum) – is pleased
to announce the Nature and Origins of Human Cognition conference, to be held
at the Berlin School of Mind and Brain on 18th –19th June 2015.

The goal of the conference will be to examine the nature of cognition, with
particular respect to its developmental stages in ontogeny and phylogeny.

Confirmed keynotes are Elizabeth Spelke (Harvard University), Elliot Sober
(University of Wisconsin), Michael Tomasello (Max Planck Institute for
Evolutionary Anthropology).

There will also be four further symposia on related themes:
(1)     Continuity and Discontinuity (Cameron Buckner & Colin Allen)
(2)     Core Cognition (Stephen Butterfill & Christophe Heintz)
(3)     From Skillful Action to Reflective Thinking (Ellen Fridland & John Sutton)
(4)     Meta-representation (Joëlle Proust & Richard Moore)

We welcome submissions for poster presentations on any of the four topics
listed above. Complete posters will be preferred, but abstract submissions
are also invited.

How to submit a poster:
(1) While we prefer to receive full poster submissions, 500-word poster
abstracts will be also be considered. Abstracts should be written so as the
make the thesis and the arguments as clear as possible.
(2) Save your submission as a YOURSURNAME.doc OR .pdf file.
(3) Send an email to [email protected], including your name, degree,
and affiliation.
