Details

UBC and SFU are pleased to invite all undergraduate students from any discipline to submit a paper to the 2015 Western Canadian Undergraduate Conference. The topic will be on 'Science and Society' - broadly construed. This can include, but is by no means limited to, the following topics: analytic philosophy, continental philosophy, philosophical issues in a particular discpline (i.e. - foundations of mathematics, theories in geography, literary criticism, theoretical physics, etc.), and social and political issues that have a focus on conceptual issues rather than particular issues.

We will accept between 10 - 15 presenters who will present for 15-20 minutes each. We expect the conference to last no more than a total of 7 hours with breaks between each presentation and light refreshments provided. The venue will be on the SFU campus; the exact location will be decided at a later date and will be posted on the PhilEvents website here. There is no attendance fee. Light refreshments will be provided.

Each submission should be anonymous, no longer than 15 pages long, formatted in .doc or .pdf form, and all figures and tables should be part of the .doc/.pdf. A separate document containing contact information (name, e-mail/phone number), university affiliation, and areas of interest should also be included. Please submit your paper anonymously.

Please also fill out this form to help us smoothen the submission process: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1DXEq7HUTcYGVux5aO0XcBpfjtB4z9I1PYvx3dQvZL9A/viewform
