The annual conference of the Australian Society of Legal Philosophy will be hosted by the Julius Stone Institute of Jurisprudence at the University of Sydney from Friday 12 June to Sunday 14 June 2015. The keynote speakers will be Gary Chartier (La Sierra University), Gerald Postema (University of North Carolina) and Scott Shapiro (Yale University). The subject of the book symposium will be Nicole Roughan’s Authorities: Conflicts, Cooperation, and Transnational Legal Theory (Oxford University Press, 2013).

The Society welcomes proposals for papers on any topic in the philosophy of law. To be considered for inclusion in the program, please send abstracts of no more than 200 words to [email protected] by Friday 1 May 2015.

To register for the conference, please visit http://sydney.edu.au/news/law/457.html?eventcategoryid=40&eventid=10929.

The Julius Stone Institute of Jurisprudence will also host a free workshop for postgraduate students in legal philosophy, which will take place before the start of the conference on Friday 12 July. This event is intended to provide an opportunity for in-depth discussion of ongoing work. To enable such discussion, each paper will be distributed in advance to all of the other participants and then commented on by one of them. If you wish to participate, please send an abstract of no more than 200 words to [email protected] by Friday 1 May 2015.
