Details

Colleagues,

We invite you to attend a colloquium at Fermilab on Wednesday July 15th presented by professor Allan Franklin from the University of Colorado. Please see the abstract in the attached announcement. Professor Franklin will explore both the question of quantitative standards in particle physics research and the broader question of discovery metrics in science. Following professor Franklin’s presentation, discussion will continue at the “Music Room” in the Fermilab village, followed by a dinner off-site in the local area for those interested in continuing discussion. Please join us for this stimulating event that will explore both quantitative metrics of discovery and the philosophy of science. Please let us know if you are interested in joining the reception and dinner.

Best Regards,

Robert Tschirhart ([email protected]),

Douglas Glenzinski ([email protected]),

Pushpalatha Bhat ([email protected]),
