2nd CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

New deadline for acceptance of abstracts: 31st March

The Portuguese Philosophical Society and the Department of Philosophy of the University of Porto are organizing the 2nd Portuguese Congress of Philosophy, to be held on 8 and 9 September 2016. With the collaboration of the Portuguese Association for Phenomenological Philosophy, the Portuguese Association for the Theory and Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy, the Luso-Brazilian Institute of Philosophy, the Society for Environmental Ethics and the Portuguese Society for Analytic Philosophy, the event will also include delegations from national philosophical associations from Brazil (ANPOF) and Spain (REF).

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:

Claudine Tiercelin is Chaire Métaphysique et philosophie de la connaissance at the Collège de France.
Daniel Innerarity teaches political and social philosophy at the University of País Basco, is a IKERBASQUE researcher and the director of the Instituto de Gobernanza Democrática.

We welcome abstracts on any philosophical topic, as long as they are integrated in one the following sections:

• Philosophy of Law (arranged by ATFD)
• Phenomenological Philosophy (arranged by AFFEN)
• Luso-Brazilian Philosophy (arranged by IFLB)
• Philosophy of Nature and the Environment (arranged by SEA)
• Epistemology and Philosophy of Science
• Aesthetics and Philosophy of Art
• Ethics and Political Philosophy
• Philosophy of Mind and of Language
• History of Philosophy
• Logic and Metaphysics
• Teaching Philosophy

We accept abstracts written in Portuguese, English, French or Spanish. Abstracts should be sent by email as an attachment in Word or PDF format to [email protected]. The message should have the subject line “2CPF-SR “ and include a separate attachment with the author’s name, affiliation and email contacts, and the section of the Congress to which the author is applying.


Abstracts should not exceed 1000 words, and should be arranged for blind refereeing by the scientific committee of the congress, avoiding any identifying references, including automatically generated author metadata embedded in the document’s properties (if in doubt, please send the document in Word format).
