Estoril Political Forum is an international conference on Political Science and International Relations that the Institute for Political Studies of the Catholic University of Portugal organises every year in association with the International Forum for Democratic Studies. This year's theme is "Democracy and its Enemies: New Threats, New Possibilities". With distinguished speakers, such as Durão Barroso, former President of the European Commission and Director of the Centre for European Studies at our Institute, Timothy Garton Ash from Oxford, Lilia Shevtsova from the Brookings Institution in Moscow and Sarah Cook from Freedom House in New York, we will analyse topics of enormous relevance today. Among these, we will discuss the resurgence of authoritarianism around the world, how free speech fares in this new interconnected reality and the aftermath of the UK referendum after the British citizens have their say on their EU membership. If you want to be a part of this meeting of students, specialists, opinion leaders, policy makers and journalists, or just learn more about it, check out our program here: http://www.iep.lisboa.ucp.pt/site/custom/template/ucptpl_fachome.asp?sspageid=1108&lang=2
