After a very successful Workshop last year, we have decided to host another this year! The Workshop came about through recognition of a lack of opportunities for Victorian postgraduate philosophers to meet and find out about each other’s research, outside of formal conference contexts. The one-day Victorian Postgraduate Philosophy Workshop aims to provide a chance for postgraduate philosophy students to present their research to a wider audience than they otherwise would have at their home institution, but in a less formal environment than that of large conferences.
Papers are welcome from all areas of philosophy and streams will be created based on the submissions that we receive. We particularly encourage work by and about women and other marginalised social groups in philosophy. Standard time slots will be 30 minutes, including questions, and hour long sessions are available for those using the conference for completion or confirmation seminars, or for special circumstances (please contact us if you have special circumstances that necessitate a longer timeslot) .
The conference is primarily for Victorian postgraduate philosophy students, although students from elsewhere in Australia and overseas are more than welcome! Honours students will also be considered, but priority will be given to postgrads if spaces are limited.
Abstract Length: 100 words
Deadline for Submission: October 14, 2016
Please submit abstracts through the form on our submissions page. Please send any questions, suggestions etc to our email – [email protected]
We hope to see you there!
