ASAGE is a peer-reviewed, graduate journal of aesthetics and the philosophy of art, sponsored by the American Society for Aesthetics. We are now inviting submissions for the Fall/Winter issue (9.1).

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: November 15, 2016.

Articles: ASAGE accepts papers on any topic in aesthetics, written by graduate students who have not yet completed final requirements for the doctoral degree. Submissions should be around 3000 words (although exceptions may be made at the editor's discretion), to a maximum of 5000 words, particularly in the case of historical papers. They must be accompanied by an abstract of no more than 250 words and a word count. Submissions, prepared for blind review, may be submitted by registering with the site at http://asage.org/index.php/ASAGE/user/register.

Book Reviews: ASAGE also seeks proposals for book reviews for recently published books. Interested parties should send the book's title, author, and date of publication to [email protected]. Please also include a short (100-200-word) explanation detailing why you think the book in question should be reviewed in ASAGE, and why you are qualified to review it. Proposals for book reviews must be approved by the editor in advance. For more information, including a running list of suggested books for review, please check the website at http://asage.org/index.php/ASAGE/announcement/view/4. Reviewers must acquire their own copy of the book under review.

Dissertation Abstracts: ASAGE is currently accepting brief dissertation abstracts summarizing recently completed dissertations in the philosophy of art. PhD students worldwide who are members of the American Society for Aesthetics and who have completed all of their degree requirements are invited to submit a dissertation abstract of 475 words or less for publication.

Please submit your abstract via the online submission system, or by emailing it to [email protected]. Please include your date of defense, the degree received and the names of the members of your advisory committee. Abstracts will not be peer reviewed. Changes to abstracts are not possible once they have been published.

Blind Reviewers: Any student interested in reviewing for the journal should download the application form fromhttp://asage.org/index.php/ASAGE/announcement/view/2, fill it out and e-mail it to [email protected], with "Reviewer Application" in the subject line. Interested students should also register as reviewers on the ASAGE website by clicking on 'Register' at the top of the page.

Faculty members can nominate reviewers by sending the potential reviewer's full name and e-mail address to [email protected], with "Reviewer Nomination" in the subject line of the e-mail.

All submissions should be formatted according to the specifications of The Chicago Manual of Style. Citations, however, must conform to the author-date system, in which a list of works cited appears before the endnotes, and citation is handled parenthetically, providing author name, year of publication, and page. Submissions should not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors must attest that material submitted is original, and free from plagiarism. Any necessary permissions should be obtained by the author prior to submission.

Linking to authorized online images of art works and audio or video files referred to in the paper is permitted.

Deadline for article submissions: November 15, 2016.
