The Presidential Address marks the official inauguration of the 105th President of the Aristotelian Society: Professor Sarah Broadie.  

Professor Broadie is in the Moral Philosophy Department at the University of St Andrews. She has previously worked in philosophy departments at Princeton, Rutgers, Yale, the University of Texas at Austin, and Edinburgh University. Her publications include Nature, Change, and Agency in Aristotle¹s Physics (1982); Passage and Possibility: a study of Aristotle's modal concepts (1982); Ethics with Aristotle (1991); Aristotle, Nicomachean Ethics: Commentary, with translation by Christopher Rowe (2002);  Aristotle and Beyond, Essays on Metaphysics and Ethics (2007); Nature and Divinity in Plato¹s Timaeus (2011); Philoponus on Aristotle, Physics 4. 10-14 (on Time), translation and notes (2012). She is a Fellow of the British Academy, the Royal Society of Edinburgh, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the Academia Europaea.  

The Presidential Address will be chaired by the Society's outgoing President: Professor Marie McGinn (UEA/York).

Following the Address, the Society will be hosting a wine reception in honour of the new President.
