Details

In honor of the city of Omaha’s most famous philosophical son and in celebration of the recent publication of his Philosophical Troubles: Collected Papers, Volume 1, the University of Nebraska at Omaha will host a national conference on the recent work of Saul Kripke from May 19-22, 2013.

In addition to invited speakers, a number of conference positions are reserved for submitted papers.

Submissions regarding any aspect of Kripke’s published work are welcome, but submissions concerning the papers in his recently published collection are especially encouraged.  Submissions should be no more than 4000 words (40 minute presentation time) and are due by Feb. 28, 2013.  Early submissions are encouraged.

Through a generous donation from the Jewish Federation of Omaha, the conference is able provide accommodations, food, and an honorarium to help offset travel costs.

Submissions should be prepared for blind review and should include a front page with (i) title of the submission, (ii) 500 word abstract, (iii) word count, and (iv) list of the principle work(s) of Kripke that are the focus of the discussion.  A separate identifying cover sheet with author’s name, affiliation, rank (graduate students are welcome to apply), and contact information should also be included. Submissions should be made electronically to: [email protected].
