Contemporary Ethical Theories

The aim of the conference is to analyse and evaluate the development of ethical theories in the second half of the 20th century regarding especially similarities and differences in the development before 1989 and after the fall of the iron curtain in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe in comparison to other parts of the world.

Scope of contributions:

• Analysis and evaluation of the development of ethical theories in the second half of the 20th century.
• Possible utilisation of ethical theories in applied and professional ethics.
• Analysis and evaluation of the development of ethical thoughts in the countries of the Soviet Bloc before 1989 and after the fall of the iron curtain.
• Development of applied and professional ethics in Central and Eastern Europe after 1989.

Papers will be published in peer reviewed international journal Ethics & Bioethics (ISSN 1338-5615) indexed by Philosopher’s Index.
