It is called 'Understanding III' because it is a sequel to the virtual conferences 'Understanding II' and 'Bridges between the epistemology and the phenomenology of understanding' held in November and May 2021\, respectively.

The conference is organized by Andrei Mărăşoiu at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Bucharest. Co-hosting with the Department are CELFIS (Centrul de Logică\, Filosofie şi Istorie a Ştiinţei) and ICUB (Institutul de Cercetări\, Secţia Ştiinţe Umaniste) at the same university.
