DESCRIPTION:
On behalf of the Schopenhauer-Gesellschaft the North American Division of the Schopenhauer Society announces a Call for Papers for its thirty-second\, bi-annual meeting which will be held in conjunction with the Eastern Division Meeting of the American Philosophical Association\, January 4-7\, 2023\, Montreal\, QC\, Canada.&nbsp\; Papers may be on any aspect of Schopenhauer&rsquo\;s philosophy or related themes (e.g. Schopenhauer&rsquo\;s monistic metaphysics\, Schopenhauer&rsquo\;s moral psychology\, Schopenhauer&rsquo\;s philosophy of religion\, etc.)\, though we especially encourage papers confronting the theme of &ldquo\;Schopenhauer &amp\; the Fin de si&egrave\;cle.&rdquo\; Papers addressed to this theme would explore connections between Schopenhauer and philosophical figures and developments at the end of the 19th century (e.g. Schopenhauer and neo-Kantianism\, Schopenhauer and Lebensphilosophie\, etc.)&nbsp\;
\n
Papers should have a reading time of approximately 20 minutes (10 double-spaced pages) and should be submitted electronically by August 30\, 2022 to Assistant Director Sean T. Murphy\, at the email address listed below. The society eagerly welcomes submissions from members of underrepresented groups with an interest in engaging Schopenhauer&rsquo\;s thought. Lastly\, membership in this society is free of charge and open to anyone with an interest in Schopenhauer&rsquo\;s philosophy.
\n
Sandra Shapshay\, Director
\n
North American Division of the Schopenhauer Society
\n
Hunter College &amp\; Graduate Center CUNY&nbsp\;&nbsp\;
\n
Sean T.
