DESCRIPTION:
Philosophy at the University of Glasgow is proud to be hosting Professor&nbsp\;Tyler Burge as a Scots Philosophical Association Centenary Fellow. To mark&nbsp\;Professor Burge&rsquo\;s visit\, the University will be holding a two-day workshop&nbsp\;exploring themes from Burge&rsquo\;s work. The aim of the workshop is to bring&nbsp\;together philosophers interested in questions of mind\, language and&nbsp\;knowledge for discussion and debate centred on Burge&rsquo\;s vital contributions&nbsp\;to these topics.
\n
Submission Details:

Abstracts of 250-500 words are invited on any aspect of Burge&rsquo\;s work.&nbsp\;Proposals addressing themes from Burge&rsquo\;s recent book Origins of Objectivity&nbsp\;are particularly encouraged.

Speakers will each be given slots of at least one hour. As the workshop aims&nbsp\;to foster informal discussion\, there is flexibility regarding the format of&nbsp\;presentations. Speakers may wish to present a paper followed by Q&amp\;A.&nbsp\;Alternatively\, speakers may wish to lead a structured discussion of issues&nbsp\;raised by Burges&rsquo\; work. This might take the form of a brief exposition of an&nbsp\;issue followed by a series of discussion topics.

The deadline for submission is May 3rd. We aim to notify speakers of our&nbsp\;decision no later than May 17th. Submissions and enquiries should be&nbsp\;directed to&nbsp\;thomas.mcclelland@glasgow.ac.uk

Some funds may be available to assist with the travel and accommodation&nbsp\;costs of speakers. The workshop welcomes applications from graduate students&nbsp\;and early career researchers.
