DESCRIPTION:<p>First edition of the Buenos Aires 'Philosophical Perspectives on the Mind Sciences' Workshop Series. The theme of this first edition will be the Philosophy of Psychiatry. The workshop will be held online on May 3 and May 4\, 2023. All talks will be in English.</p>\n<p>Possible topics include concepts of mental health and mental illness\, validity and reliability of psychiatric classifications and diagnostic criteria\, skepticism and defense of medical and biological approaches to psychiatry\, feminist approaches to psychiatric nosology and treatment\, concepts of cure and recovery\, theories concerning specific psychopathological categories\, rationality and psychopathology\, motivation and psychopathology\, emotion and psychopathology\, phenomenology of psychiatric conditions\, ethical aspects of psychiatric diagnosis and treatment\, and the implications of philosophical reflection on psychiatric conditions for other philosophical problems\, including topics concerning knowledge\, mind\, agency\, intersubjectivity\, and morality.</p>\n<p>If you have any&nbsp\;doubts\, feel free to contact us at&nbsp\;fgburdman@uba.ar</p>
