DESCRIPTION:Proposals are being solicited for the 5th annual meeting of the Society for the Study of Nanoscience and Emerging Technologies (S.NET</a>)\, to be held at Northeastern University\, Boston\, October 27-30\, 2013.&nbsp\;S.NET</a>&nbsp\;is an&nbsp\;international association that promotes intellectual exchange and critical inquiry on developments in a broad range of new and emerging fields\, including\, but not limited to\, nanoscale science and engineering\, biotechnology\, synthetic biology\, cognitive science and geo-engineering. Annual meetings alternate between the U.S. and Europe\, with the the 2012 meeting held at the University of Twente in Enschede\, the Netherlands. &nbsp\;\n&nbsp\;\nOur theme for 2013 is&nbsp\;<strong>Innovation\, Responsibility\, and&nbsp\;Sustainable Developmen</strong>t. Boston is a hub for innovation\, and the theme fits in well with the region's strengths in a wide array of technologies.&nbsp\;At this point we are open to all suggestions\, ranging from standard papers\, presentation\, and posters to ideas for concurrent workshops\, plenary sessions\, and special roundtables. &nbsp\;For ideas\, see the 2012 program at&nbsp\;http://www.utwente.nl/igs/conference/2012_snet_conference/Preliminary%20programme.doc/</a>\n\n\n<br>\n\n<p>Proposals for individual&nbsp\;papers and presentations&nbsp\;can be submitted via the&nbsp\;S.NET Submission Portal</a>. Suggestions for panels\, roundtables\, plenary speakers\, concurrent sessions\, and special workshops can be send directly to the program chair at&nbsp\;S.NETBoston@gmail.com</a>. The Program Committee will assess all proposals and respond by June 15.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;</p>\n<p><strong>Venue accessibility</strong>: Dockser Hall\, home to the Northeastern University School of Law\, is fully accessible&nbsp\;to persons with mobility impairments. The Northeastern campus itself is readily accessible by public transportation. <br> <strong></strong></p>\n<p><strong>Hotel</strong>: We have arranged for a block of rooms at the&nbsp\;Boston Park Plaza\, a short subway ride from the Northeastern campus. Room rates will be $165 + 14% tax per night for single and double rooms\, $185 + 14% tax for triples. Rooms will be available at this rate from Saturday\, October 26 through Thursday\, October 31.
