DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>IVP Early-Career Philosopher of Religion 2022</strong></p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp\;</strong></p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp\;</strong></p>\n<p>Inter-Varsity Press and the Tyndale Fellowship&rsquo\;s Study Group for Philosophy of Religion are pleased to announce the competition for the title of </p>\n<p>IVP Early-Career Philosopher of Religion 2022.<br> <br> This year&rsquo\;s essay question:</p>\n<p><strong>&lsquo\;Is any version of Christian materialism defensible?&rsquo\;<br> </strong><br> Prizes: Book prizes shall be awarded to the value of:<br> <strong>1st Prize: &pound\;100<br> 2nd Prize: &pound\;50<br> 3rd Prize: Copy of <em>We Believe</em></strong><strong><em></em></strong></p>\n<p>Books must be purchased from IVP books.</p>\n<p><strong>The winner will also be named &lsquo\;IVP Early-Career Philosopher of Religion 2022&rsquo\;<br> <br> </strong></p>\n<p>Submissions are welcome from anyone either within three years of their first\, permanent academic position or that has never held such.&nbsp\; Submissions must be between 2\,000 &amp\; 4\,000 words and will be assessed on professional Philosophy benchmarks\, including: </p>\n<p>&nbsp\;<em>&nbsp\;Display of a questioning intelligence </em></p>\n<p><em>Ability to engage critically with ideas </em><em></em></p>\n<p><em>Clarity in making relevant distinctions </em><em></em></p>\n<p><em>Ability to construct reasoned arguments </em><em></em></p>\n<p><em>Ability to evaluate arguments critically </em><em></em></p>\n<p><em>Knowledge of the history of Philosophy and the Philosophy of Religion </em><em></em></p>\n<p>Essays must be written in English and submitted electronically as either a Word Document or a PDF to Daniel Hill (<a href="mailto:djhill1972@gmail.com">djhill1972@gmail.com</a>) by midnight on Friday September 16th 2022.</p>\n<p>It is hoped that the winners will be announced within one month of the closing date. </p>\n\n\n<p>Dr Daniel Hill (Chair\, Tyndale Fellowship&rsquo\;s Study Group in Philosophy of Religion)</p>
