DESCRIPTION:<p>Philosophy in the Wild invites abstract submissions for presentations for our third annual conference\, the theme of which is environmental philosophy\, very broadly construed. In 2023\, we aim to focus on the topics of globalism and localism. We will prioritize abstracts on this theme\, though all abstracts related to environmental philosophy will be considered. This event is a small\, outdoor\, wifi-free (i.e.\, low-tech) event\, focused on fostering philosophical community.</p>\n<p>From July 14th to 16th\, 2023\, participants will camp at Poe Paddy State Park in central Pennsylvania. Camping through July 17th is optional. Activities will include (though will not be limited to) presentations and discussions\, both for our whole group and in small break-out groups\, and hiking (optional). No prior camping experience is necessary.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>In addition\, Maja Sidzińska will give a lecture titled\, "A Philosophical Introduction to Leopold Kohr."</p>\n<p>Please note that there will be a registration fee associated with participation in this conference to cover food and campsite fees. Philosophy in the Wild will work with participants to help arrange gear rentals if needed\, the cost of which will be added to the registration fee.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>This event is wheelchair accessible\, although the campsite grounds include gravel.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>The event will follow the relevant local directives regarding Covid-19\, and plans will be adjusted as needed.
