DESCRIPTION:
*V International Congress on Tools for Teaching Logic: Madrid\, March 23-24\,
2023*

As the science of reasoning\, modern logic has become a fruitful field of
research where exact sciences\, humanities and social sciences can be
successfully connected. However\, the learning of mathematical logic turns
out to be a challenging task for many students due to its formal and
abstract nature. For this reason\, in 1998\, a group of logicians led by
Mar&iacute\;a Manzano developed an ALFA Project (Am&eacute\;rica Latina Formaci&oacute\;n Europea)
named "Tools for Teaching Logic" and supported by the European Union. As a
result\, four editions of the International Congress on Tools for Teaching
Logic have taken place since then (Salamanca 2000\, Salamanca 2006\,
Salamanca 2011 and Rennes 2015).

The Department of Logic and Theoretical Philosophy of the Complutense
University of Madrid&mdash\;in collaboration with the Spanish Society of Logic\,
Methodology and Philosophy of Science (SLMFCE)\, the Mexican Academy of
Logic (AML) and the Center for Studies in Philosophy\, Logic and
Epistemology (CEFILOE)&mdash\;will organise the Fifth Edition of the International
Congress on Tools for Teaching Logic\, to be held in Madrid on March 23-24
in 2023.

We invite submissions for contributed talks in English on the broad topic
of the congress from October 26 until December 4. Abstracts (in pdf) should
have no more than 1\,000 words (without references)\, be prepared for blind
refereeing and be sent through the following online form:

https://forms.gle/cJdwnrcJ3Jci9GAt9

The acceptance of submissions will be informed before January the 16th.
Please direct any questions about this Congress to
toolsforteachinglogic23@gmail.com>

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

&nbsp\;- Mar&iacute\;a Manzano (University of Salamanca)
&nbsp\;- &Aacute\;ngel Nepomuceno (University of Seville)
&nbsp\;- Concepci&oacute\;n Mart&iacute\;nez Vidal (University of Santiago de Compostela)
&nbsp\;- Jos&eacute\; Mart&iacute\;nez (University of Barcelona)

SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE

&nbsp\;- Enrique Alonso (Autonomous University of Madrid)
&nbsp\;- Claudio Conforti (Catholic University of Argentina and AML)
&nbsp\;- Antonia Huertas (Open University of Catalonia)
&nbsp\;- Jes&uacute\;s Jasso (Autonomous University of Mexico City\, Autonomous National
University of Mexico and AML)
&nbsp\;- Rodrigo L&oacute\;pez-Orellana (University of Valpara&iacute\;so and CEFILOE)
&nbsp\;- Felip Many&agrave\; (IIIA-CSIC)
&nbsp\;- Manuel Martins (University of Aveiro)
&nbsp\;- Sergi Oms (University of Barcelona)
&nbsp\;- Diego Pinheiro (Federal University of Para&iacute\;ba)
&nbsp\;- Juan Redmond (University of Valpara&iacute\;so and CEFILOE)
&nbsp\;- Pilar Terr&eacute\;s (University of Salamanca)

ORGANISING COMMITTEE

- V&iacute\;ctor Aranda (Complutense University of Madrid)
- Elia Zardini (Complutense University of Madrid)
- Carmen L&oacute\;pez Rinc&oacute\;n (Complutense University of Madrid)
- Ludovica Conti (University of Pavia/Complutense University of Madrid)
- Carlota Garc&iacute\;a Llorente (Complutense University of Madrid)
- Jos&eacute\; Alejandro Fern&aacute\;ndez Cuesta (Complutense University of Madrid)
- Carlos Javier Villac&iacute\;s Hidalgo (Complutense University of Madrid)
