We are pleased to announce that the 7th Annual Boston Phenomenology Circle Symposium\, "Phenomenology and Emotion\," will take place March 31st &ndash\; April 1st\, 2023 at Boston University and Boston College. Phenomenology has long emphasized the centrality of emotion to our experience of the world\, self-understanding\, and engagement with others. This year's symposium aims to bring together scholars to (re-)consider what unique resources phenomenology offers for understanding the emotions and their place in our lives. We intend to take a broad approach to our theme by including papers on the place of affect and emotion in the philosophies of particular historical phenomenologists (especially non-canonical figures)\, contemporary phenomenological research into how emotions shape our experience of the world and relations to others (especially work that draws upon or moves between different academic disciplines)\, and treatments of particular emotions from a phenomenological perspective.
