Death and the sublime in painting and film (vanitas\, memento mori\, etc.)\;
\n
. Death and the iconic turn\;
\n
. The limits of aestheticism and mannerism in painting and film\;
\n
. Film&rsquo\;s temporal ecstasies: the depth of field\, the slow motion\, distorted and blurred images\, the sublime of the now.
\n
. Contemporary philosophers: Han\, Sobchack\, Derrida\, L&eacute\;vinas\, Cavell\, Deleuze\, Foucault\, Sontag&hellip\;
\n
Editor&rsquo\;s note: Susana Viegas is a Researcher in Philosophy of Film and a full member of IFILNOVA\, FCSH &ndash\; Universidade NOVA de Lisboa.
