RSVPing on PhilEvents does not register you to attend.</p>\n<p><strong><br></strong></p>\n<p><strong>GENERAL INFORMATION</strong></p>\n<p>The Technology Ethics eXchange of the NorthEast (te&chi\;nē) invites submissions of extended abstracts for an interdisciplinary conference on research and teaching on the ethics of technology\, to be hosted at Harvard on May 18&ndash\;19\, 2023.</p>\n<p>Potential topics for submissions include but are not limited to:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Philosophical research on AI ethics\, the ethics of computing\, or the ethics of technology generally</p>\n</li>\n<li>\n<p>Social research on the impacts of technologies</p>\n</li>\n<li>\n<p>Interdisciplinary research in responsible computing and responsible technology development</p>\n</li>\n<li>\n<p>Scholarship on educational initiatives in responsible computing and STEM ethics\, such as courses\, modules\, workshops\, or masterclasses</p>\n</li>\n<li>\n<p>Pedagogical reports of success stories\, challenges\, and strategies for teaching ethics to students in technology-focused concentrations</p>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><strong>Keynotes</strong></p>\n<p>Helen Nissenbaum (Information Science\, Cornell Tech)</p>\n<p>Casey Fiesler (Information Science\, University of Colorado Boulder)</p>\n<p>Anita Allen (Law &amp\; Philosophy\, University of Pennsylvania)</p>\n<p><strong>Submission details</strong>: Submit an extended abstract of no more than 750 words\, along with other requested details\, through the following form: https://forms.gle/CKBbHNogcQheX4AY9 The submission must be suitable for a 25&ndash\;30 minute presentation\, to be followed by Q&amp\;A.</p>\n<p><strong>Deadline</strong>: February 3\, 2023 (anywhere on Earth).</p>\n<p>Accepted presenters are generally expected to attend the conference in-person\, but the event will be livestreamed via Zoom. Remote presentation may be possible where needed for accessibility\, or in the event of illness or emergency. Please indicate in the "Any further details" field on the submission form if you anticipate needing to participate remotely\; this information will be removed when submissions are reviewed and used for planning purposes only.</p>\n<p>te&chi\;nē is a consortium of teacher-scholars at Harvard\, MIT\, and Northeastern\, whose research and teaching focus on the ethics of technology\, AI ethics\, and responsible computing. Members are associated with Embedded EthiCS @ Harvard University\, Social and Ethical Responsibilities of Computing at MIT\, and the Ethics Institute at Northeastern University.
