DESCRIPTION:<p>The "<strong>New Work in the Theory of Mind</strong>" <strong>graduate conference</strong> aims to bring together students and researchers in order advance our understanding of how we come to interact\, either by using a theory of mind framework or by emerging alternative accounts.</p>\n<p>The conference will take place <strong>10-11 February 2023</strong>\, between 12-8 PM\, local time for Bucharest\, Romania. Regular presentations will be 30 minutes long\, followed by 10 minutes long Q&amp\;A.</p>\n<p>It will have a <strong>mixed format</strong>\, in that speakers may choose whether they present online only or face to face at the event's location (if so\, their session will enjoy a live audience\, but it will also be streamed to remote participants).</p>\n<p><strong>Keynote speakers:</strong></p>\n<p>Shaun Gallagher (University of Memphis and University of Wollongong)</p>\n<p>Daniel Hutto (University of Wollongong)</p>\n<p><strong>Topic areas:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Folk Psychology and narrative practices (folk psychology\, understanding reasons\, intentional attitudes/ propositional attitudes\, representational-computational ToM/ radical of E-cognition)</li>\n<li>An alternative to theory of mind (theory of mind/ interaction theory\, false-belief tasks and pretend play\, narrative competencies and intersubjective abilities\, action and interaction)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Call for abstracts</strong></p>\n<p>We encourage MA and PhD students\, as well as early PhD's and postdocs\, to contribute research abstracts related to the event's topic areas. Abstracts should be written in English and should not exceed <strong>300 words</strong>.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Abstracts will receive full consideration if sent before <strong>January 15th</strong>\, 2023 at the following address: theoryofmindconference@gmail.com Word or PDF attachments preferred\, with the message titled "abstract submission".</p>\n<p>All submissions will go through a process of <strong>blind peer review</strong>. (Please write your identifying details in the body of the email\, and leave the attached abstract anonymized.) We intend notifications of acceptance to be sent out on or before January 20th\, 2023.
