DESCRIPTION:<p>The Marquette Philosophy Graduate Student Association is excited to accept abstracts for our annual graduate conference to be held on March 24th\, 2023. The theme for this year&rsquo\;s conference will be Hidden Figures in Philosophy.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Research and study of philosophers often revolves around certain key figures whose influence is obvious and unquestionable. This emphasis\, however\, neglects the many philosophical contributions from other figures whose original ideas have been forgotten or have failed to receive proper uptake. Our conference aims to address this concern by inviting a broad range of scholars to speak on the philosophical figures who have been hidden from our contemporary philosophical gaze\, whether that is through historical or social circumstance\, an infelicitous philosophical climate\, active repression due to prejudice\, or some other reason.&nbsp\; With that in mind\, we are accepting proposals from any geographic area or historical period\, from forgotten figures from Ancient Greeceto the writings of a guerilla revolutionary in the 1960&rsquo\;s.&nbsp\;</p>
