DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>Call for Papers: Third <em>Hume Studies</em> Essay Prize (2023-24)</strong></p>\n<p>The Hume Society and <em>Hume</em> <em>Studies</em> invite submissions for the third <em>Hume Studies</em> Essay Prize\, to be awarded in 2024.</p>\n<p>The annual competition is open to those<strong> ten or fewer years from the Ph.D</strong>.\, including those currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program. The winning paper will be published with acknowledgment in <em>Hume Studies</em>\, and the author will receive $1\,000 US.</p>\n<p><em>Hume Studies\, </em>the interdisciplinary journal of the Hume Society\, publishes work on all aspects of David Hume and his world.</p>\n<p>To be eligible for the prize\, papers must be submitted any time before and including <strong>August 1\, 2023</strong> (11:59 New York time). <em>Since this is an ongoing annual competition\, qualified papers submitted after this deadline will be considered in the next year&rsquo\;s competition.</em></p>\n<p><strong>Process</strong>: To enter the competition\, authors should submit their papers to the journal for publication at <a href="https://www.humesociety.org/ojs/index.php/hs/%20information/authors">https://www.humesociety.org/ojs/index.php/hs/ information/authors</a>. They will be asked as a step in the submission process whether they qualify. Papers will undergo the regular anonymized referee review process. Any author receiving an invitation to resubmit a revised paper may do so for the competition by the end of the calendar year. The version in hand will then receive a separate review by a subset of members of the Editorial Board\, who decide the competition winner.
