\n&ldquo\;More than Meets the Ear: Perspectives on Sound and Music&rdquo\; \;
\nThis year&rsquo\;s theme\, &ldquo\;more than meets the ear\,&rdquo\; invites and encourages us to consider music and sound from various perspectives\; prompting us to think about how music and sound have the capacity to challenge our expectations\, transcend our existing knowledge\, and manifest themselves in ways that offer diverse and meaningful socio-cultural connections. We encourage submissions of research papers and lecture-recitals dealing with a wide range of topics\, including\, but not limited to\, music/sound as it relates to and/or intersects with: \;

Dr. Gaunt&rsquo\;s presentation examines how music reproduces racism and sexploitation online based on case studies from YouTube to Wikipedia. Applicants are asked to notify us about any accessibility needs they may have in submission emails\, and we will make every effort to ensure that the symposium is accessible to all who have identified specific needs. All personal information will be viewed only by the MCGSS Program Committee and will remain confidential. \;
