DESCRIPTION:
The&nbsp\;Artificial Intelligence and Human Values&nbsp\;working group of the CNY Humanities Corridor hosts its annual workshop on the theme "Ethical Foundations of Data Science"
\n
The workshop will take place on April 28 (10:30am&ndash\;5:30pm) at Syracuse University. The format is &ldquo\;pre-read&rdquo\;\, i.e. drafts of the papers will be circulated ahead of the workshop. Confirmed participants are&nbsp\;Kathleen&nbsp\;Creel (Northeastern) and Karina Vold (Toronto).&nbsp\;
\n
The workshop has two aims. First\, it aims to build a community around topics of AI and Human Values by creating a venue for collaboration. Second\, the workshop aims to give researchers&mdash\;from students to faculty&mdash\;at&nbsp\;CNY Humanities Corridor&nbsp\;institutions who work on the ethics of AI an opportunity to get detailed feedback on their work.&nbsp\;
\n
Students or faculty interested in attending or presenting should get in touch. If you are interested in presenting your work\, submit an abstract of up to 500 words by March 20. Feel free to reach out with any questions beforehand.
\n
Attendees who are faculty or students are one of the CNY Humanities Corridor institutions can apply to have part of their travel costs reimbursed. Regrettably\, because of budget constraints\, we cannot fund travel for other attendees.
\n
This workshop is supported by the&nbsp\;Central New York Humanities Corridor&nbsp\;(working group DH11).
