DESCRIPTION:<p>Does the<strong> Kuleshov Effect</strong> even exist? If so\, how can it be explained? This conference calls for interdisciplinary approaches mixing film theory\, theory of mind and other kindred approaches (e.g. social cognition\, a focus on narrative competency or on cognition by emotions).</p>\n<p>The conference will take place&nbsp\;<strong>11-12 May 2023.&nbsp\;</strong>It will have a&nbsp\;<strong>mixed format</strong>\, in that speakers may choose whether they present online only or face to face at the event's location (if so\, their session will enjoy a live audience\, but it will also be streamed to remote participants).</p>\n<p><strong>Call for abstracts</strong></p>\n<p>We encourage researchers at all levels to contribute abstracts related to ongoing and recent approaches to paradoxes. Abstracts should be written in English and should not exceed&nbsp\;300 words (excluding references). Please add 1-3 main recent references\, and 1-5 keywords.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Abstracts will receive full consideration if sent before&nbsp\;April 15th\, 2023 at the following address:&nbsp\;stefanita.manea@gmail.com&nbsp\;Word or PDF attachments preferred\, with the message titled "New Work in Understanding the Kuleshov Effect\, abstract submission".</p>\n<p>All submissions will go through a process of&nbsp\;blind peer review from a selected local scientific committee. (Please write your identifying details in the body of the email\, and leave the attached abstract anonymized.) We intend notifications of acceptance to be sent out on or before April 30th\, 2023.
