DESCRIPTION:<p>It is popular to describe ancient ethics as eudaimonistic and put it in a sharp contrast to modern moral concepts\; but there are also various contemporary thinkers who try to incorporate some ancient insights into their philosophy. The presentations of the workshop &ldquo\;Eudaimonia &ndash\; Gl&uuml\;ck in der Antike&rdquo\; take us back to the origins of these discussions.&nbsp\;In their papers the speakers critically examine diverse theories on happiness ranging from Plato to Roman Philosophy.</p>\n<p>The workshop &ldquo\;Eudaimonia &ndash\; Gl&uuml\;ck in der Antike&rdquo\; takes place from August 30th to August 31st 2013 in Vienna.
