DESCRIPTION:<p>Axiology Workshop 2023</p>\n<p>Venue: McGill University\, Montreal</p>\n<p>Dates: September 29-30\, 2023</p>\n<p>Keynote Speaker: Wlodek Rabinowicz (Lund)</p>\n<p>Canada Research Chair in Value Theory and the Philosophy of Public Policy (PI: <a rel="nofollow">Iwao Hirose</a>) is pleased to announce the first annual Axiology Workshop. The workshop is intended to be a friendly forum where analytical value theorists in philosophy\, economics\, and social sciences get together. It will take place in Montreal on September 29-30\, 2023.</p>\n<p>We invite submissions of abstracts on any topic in analytical value theory. Topics include (but are not confined to) measurement of personal and general good\; interpersonal comparison of goods\; interpersonal/intra-personal aggregation of good\; dis-aggregation of general good\; the nature of impersonal good\; the value of existence\; population ethics\; dispersion of personal good over times\; dynamic consistency of good\; and so on. There will be seven slots for submitted papers.</p>\n<p>Abstracts should be max one A4 page (PDF file only)\, prepared for blind review\, and suitable for a 35-minute presentation. Abstracts should state (1) the main result(s) of your analysis and (2) rough outline of your analysis. The abstracts submission page will open on May 1\, 2023.</p>\n<p>Speakers of accepted abstracts will be offered (a) workshop dinner and (b) 3 nights of accommodation in downtown Montreal.</p>\n<p>We welcome and encourage submissions from members of underrepresented groups such as (but not limited to) women and Indigenous persons. A limited number of travel subsidy (airfare up to C$1\,000) may be available for speakers of accepted abstract. If you consider you are a member of underrepresented groups\, please indicate the intention of applying to a travel subsidy in the "comment" box when you submit an abstract. Any information you may provide in the comment box will be treated as strictly confidential.</p>\n<p>Attendance is free but requires registration as the space is limited. The registration page will open in July 2023.
