DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>50th Annual International Hume Society Conference</strong><br><br>Hosted by <br><strong>University of Oxford and Oxford Brookes University</strong><br><strong>Oxford\, United Kingdom</strong><br><strong>July 1 to 6\, 2024</strong><br><br><strong>&ldquo\;Hume: Past\, Present\, and Future&rdquo\;</strong><br><br>The Hume Society is pleased to announce its 50th annual Hume conference\, a special jubilee. We invite papers on any topic relating to Hume studies. We particularly welcome papers on the conference themes:<br><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oxford Connections: Hobbes\, Boyle\, Locke &hellip\;</li>\n<li>Hume and Reason</li>\n<li>Developments in Hume&rsquo\;s Ethics and Its Influence</li>\n<li>New Narratives and the Next 50 Years</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br>Papers should be no more than thirty minutes reading length (4000 words) and should include an abstract (200 words).<br>All self-references should be deleted for anonymous review.<br>Papers and abstracts must be submitted in English.<br>Papers should not have been published by the date of the conference.<br>As always\, non-members are welcome to submit papers.<br><br><br>Hume Society Emerging Scholar Awards are given to qualifying graduate students whose papers are accepted through the normal anonymous review process.<br><br><strong>Deadline for Submissions: December 1\, 2023.</strong><br>&nbsp\;<br>Submissions portal is open at: https://www.humesociety.org/conferences or https://sites.google.com/view/50thhumeconf<br><br><strong>Conference Directors</strong><br>Peter Millican\, University of Oxford (peter.millican@hertford.ox.ac.uk) &nbsp\;<br>Dan O&rsquo\;Brien\, Oxford Brookes University (dobrien@brookes.ac.uk)<br>Elizabeth S.
