DESCRIPTION:<p>[See practical details &amp\; zoom link details below]</p>\n<p>Abstract</p>\n<p>Brian Cox rightly acclaims the power of scientific inquiry: we know so much about the vast universe all from this tiny speck of a planet.&nbsp\; Brian Cox also claims that big questions like\, &lsquo\;why is there anything at all?&rsquo\; and &lsquo\;why are we here?&rsquo\; are scientific questions not philosophical or theological questions. My argument will be that Professor Cox is scientifically excellent but philosophically and theologically mistaken. From the same starting point &ndash\; the power of scientific inquiry &ndash\; I will argue to a philosophical and theological answer to these two big questions.</p>\n<p>Practical information</p>\n<p>Public Transport: Trams: 109 (to Box Hill)\, 12 (to Victoria Gardens): Tram\, stop 13 (Landsdowne St. ACU).</p>\n<p>Buses: From City: 302\, 303\, 304\, 305\, 309\, 318\, 350\, 905\, 906\, 907\, 908. Exit Macarthur St\, go north until Victoria Parade\, Turn right\, 400 metres (CTC building corner of Victoria Parade and Eades St\, - the Southern Side of Vic Parade\, located across from what was until very recently - the Dallas Brooks Hall).</p>\n<p>Parking along Vic Parade and at the ACU (on Young St).</p>\n<p>The Treacy boardroom is on the ground floor\, very close to the reception desk of the Thomas Carr Centre\, which is the campus building at 278 Victoria Pde.
