\nVII International Congress of Graduate students in Philosophy

\nThe graduate students at the Institute of Philosophy of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile invite their peers from similar programs in Chile and abroad to the \;VII International Congress of Graduate students in Philosophy. This event will take place between September 28th and 29th\, 2023\, and \;will be held in person and virtually\, via Zoom platform. The official language of this congress is Spanish. However\, papers in English will also be accepted.
\nThere is no previously fixated subject matter for this congress\, and we hope to host a diverse event. The only requirement for participation is to be enrolled in a PhD program in Philosophy\, Social Sciences or Humanities. The following is a list of the possible topics that the conference expects to host:

4. Aesthetics and Philosophy of Art
5. Ethics and Political Philosophy
6. Phenomenology and Hermeneutics

8. Philosophy of Science\, Theory of Knowledge\, and Epistemology
9. Philosophy of Technology\, Philosophy of Techniques
10. Gender studies and philosophy written by women
11. Metaphysics
12. Logic and history and philosophy of logic
13. Contemporary Philosophical Problems
14. Post-continental Philosophy
15. Social philosophy and Critic Theory
16. Latin American Thought and Chilean philosophy \;
From the selected papers\, the organizing committee will arrange each session according to the thematic lines that are presented\, \;also considering the possibility of arranging discussion \;schedules around \;heterogeneous themes. \;Those interested in participating in the congress should submit\, no later than \;Friday\, August 25th\, 2023 (23.59h continental Chilean time)\, a Google Form (link below)\, including an abstract (400-500 words) and an academic background summary (~50 words) as attached files (.docx or .pdf). The documents should be written in Times New Roman or similar font\, size 12\, single spacing and \;the abstract file \;should include the following information:
\n\n·\; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \;Title of the paper
\n·\; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \;Topic (among the 14 listed topics)
\n·\; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \;Abstract of the paper (400-500 words)
\n·\; \; \; \; \; \; \; \;At least three of the most important bibliographical references to be discussed
\n\nIt is strongly requested to include these items in the document attached to Google Forms. Abstracts will be evaluated by teams of PUC doctoral students with thematic affinity. \;The main criteria to be considered for the evaluation of the proposal will be the thematic relevance\, clarity of the thesis presented\, overall coherence of the argument and relevance of the suggested bibliography.
\n\nThe selected papers and the conference schedule will be \;announced on Friday\, September 1st\, 2023\, via e-mail sent to the presenter. \;Each meeting will have two or three speakers and a moderator organized by a morning and then an afternoon session. \;Presenters will have \;20 minutes of presentation time. \;It goes without saying that this presentation must be synchronous\, i.e. the presentation\, cannot consist of the reproduction of a recorded presentation. \;There will be a space for questions and comments at the end of each session with a maximum of 30 additional minutes. \;In order to respect the times established by the \;congress\, it is recommended that presenters design their presentation with supporting texts and/or slides of no more than 8 pages. It is also recommended to verify in advance the duration of the presentation.

Los estudiantes de doctorado del Instituto de Filosofí\;a de la Pontificia Universidad Cató\;lica invitan a sus compañ\;eras/os de programas similares al VII Congreso Internacional de Doctorandos en Filosofí\;a. Este evento tendrá\; lugar entre los dí\;as 28 y 29 de septiembre de 2023 y se realizará\; en modalidad virtual (via Zoom) y presencial. La lengua oficial del congreso es el españ\;ol\, pero tambié\;n se aceptará\;n ponencias en inglé\;s.
\nEl tema del congreso es abierto y esperamos hospedar un evento diverso. El ú\;nico requisito para participar es estar inscrito en un programa de Doctorado en Filosofí\;a\, o en alguna otra disciplina afí\;n de ciencias sociales o humanidades. A partir de las ponencias seleccionadas\, el comité\; organizador articulará\; las mesas de diá\;logo segú\;n las lí\;neas temá\;ticas que se presenten\, considerando tambié\;n la posibilidad de conformar mesas con temá\;ticas heterogé\;neas. Quienes esté\;n interesados en participar del congreso deberá\;n llenar\, a má\;s tardar \;el viernes 25 de agosto de 2023 (23.59 hrs.\, hora de Chile continental)\, un formulario de Google (link disponible abajo)\, incluyendo un resumen de su ponencia (entre 400 y 500 palabras) y un resumen acadé\;mico (en unas 50 palabras) como archivos adjuntos (Word o PDF). Los documentos deberá\;n utilizar tipografí\;a Times New Roman o similar\, tamañ\;o 12\, interlineado simple y \;el documento con el resumen \;deberá\; incluir la siguiente informació\;n:

Se solicita encarecidamente incluir todos estos í\;tems en el documento adjunto al formulario de Google. Los resú\;menes será\;n evaluados por equipos de doctorandos de la PUC con afinidad temá\;tica. Los \;principales criterios \;por considerar para la evaluació\;n de la propuesta será\;n \;la pertinencia temá\;tica\, claridad de la tesis presentada\, coherencia global del argumento y relevancia de la bibliografí\;a sugerida.
Las ponencias seleccionadas y el cronograma del congreso será\;n \;anunciados el viernes 1 de septiembre de 2023\, a travé\;s de un correo electró\;nico enviado al expositor. Cada mesa contará\; con dos o tres expositores y un/a moderador/a y se considera la organizació\;n de dos mesas por dí\;a\, una en la mañ\;ana y otra por la tarde. Los expositores dispondrá\;n de \;20 minutos de exposició\;n. \;Huelga decir que esta exposició\;n deberá\; ser sincró\;nica\, es decir\, la exposició\;n no puede consistir en la reproducció\;n de una ponencia ya grabada. Al finalizar las exposiciones\, existirá\; un espacio para preguntas y comentarios de má\;ximo 30 minutos adicionales. Con el propó\;sito de respetar los tiempos establecidos por el congreso se recomienda a los/las expositores/as diseñ\;ar su presentació\;n con textos de apoyo y/o diapositivas de no má\;s de 8 pá\;ginas. Asimismo\, se recomienda verificar con anterioridad la duració\;n de la exposició\;n.
