DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>2024 Eastern Meeting of the Society of Christian Philosophers</strong></p>\n\n<p>&ldquo\;<a name="_Hlk143927010">Character\, Virtue\, and the Good Life</a>&rdquo\;</p>\n<p>Samford University\, Birmingham\, Alabama</p>\n<p>March 7-9\, 2024</p>\n\n<p>Keynote Speakers: Sabrina Little (Christopher Newport) and Christian Miller (Wake Forest)</p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp\;</strong></p>\n<p><strong>PAPER SUBMISSIONS</strong></p>\n<p>We invite paper submissions (3\,000 words\, maximum) on any topic in philosophy\, with priority given to submissions that address the conference theme (&ldquo\;Character\, Virtue\, and the Good Life&rdquo\;) or engage Christian philosophy\, broadly construed. We welcome participation by individuals regardless of their religious beliefs or lack thereof as presenters and participants\, and individuals do not need to be members of the SCP to submit or to be on the program. All submissions should be either a Word or PDF file\, prepared for anonymous review\, and sent to tcyr@samford.edu by <strong>November 15\, 2023</strong>. In your submission email\, please use the subject heading &ldquo\;SCP Eastern Submission.&rdquo\; Please indicate whether you would be willing to serve as a session chair should your paper not be accepted for presentation. Note that there is a $500 (USD) prize for the best graduate student paper. Students wishing to have their submission considered for this prize should indicate so in their submission email\, including both their degree program and institution of study.</p>\n\n<p><strong>SUBMISSIONS FOR PLENARY PANEL</strong></p>\n<p>In addition\, we invite abstract submission for participation in a plenary panel:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cultivating Virtue in the University</li>\n</ul>\n<p>If you wish to participate in the panel\, please send an abstract (300 word maximum) to&nbsp\;<a href="mailto:tcyr@samford.edu">tcyr@samford.edu</a> by November 15\, 2023. Abstracts should include:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your name\, institution\, role at your institution (or prior institutions)\, and a brief account of what you would like to contribute. We are looking for panel participants to share wisdom and insight concerning the cultivation of virtue in the university\, including experiences\, resources\, and ideas that will be of interest to philosophers teaching at various types of institutions. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Please send submissions\, requests to chair\, and any other conference questions to&nbsp\;</strong><strong>Taylor Cyr at tcyr@samford.edu</strong></p>
