DESCRIPTION:<p>19th Murdoch Colloquium</p>\n<p>Philosophy and the Environment</p>\n<p>Thursday 23rd November 2023\, 9am &ndash\; 5pm</p>\n<p>Murdoch University\, South Street Campus</p>\n<p>Keynote speaker:</p>\n<p><strong>A/Prof. Dalia Nassar (University of Sydney)</strong></p>\n<p>&ldquo\;Forms of Environmental Responsibility&rdquo\;</p>\n<p>The Murdoch Philosophy Program in conjunction with the College of Arts\, Law\, and Social Sciences invites abstracts for the 19th Murdoch Colloquium.</p>\n<p>This year the Colloquium will have two sections:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>A&nbsp\;<strong>general section</strong>&nbsp\;for which papers from all areas of philosophy are welcome\;</li>\n<li>A&nbsp\;<strong>special section</strong>&nbsp\;of 3-4 papers on the theme &ldquo\;<strong>Philosophy and the Environment</strong>&rdquo\;. This section is for papers which explore links between ideas and concepts in philosophy the environment and the natural world in the broadest sense.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>As always\, we encourage contributions from all philosophical traditions\, as well as from other disciplines that take into account philosophical questions. Work presented can be polished and close to publication\, recently published\, or work-in-progress.</p>\n<p>The Colloquium is a forum for the exchange of ideas in a supportive\, collegial atmosphere. It aims to strengthen the ties between academic philosophers in Western Australia\, as well as reaching out to colleagues in other disciplines\, students and to the wider philosophy community. A certificate will be awarded for the best student paper.</p>\n<p>The Colloquium is open to academics\, undergraduate and postgraduate students. The Colloquium will be followed by drinks\, nibbles and more discussion after the event. We will conclude the evening with a collegial dinner in Fremantle\, location tba.</p>\n<p><u>How to submit your abstract:</u></p>\n<p>Abstract submissions (250 words + title) must be prepared for blind review and sent as either a PDF or Word file to&nbsp\;t.flanagan@murdoch.edu.au</a></p>\n<p>In the text of your email\, please include your name\, contact information\, and the title of your contribution (max 250 words).
