DESCRIPTION:<p>To celebrate the tercentenary birthdays of Adam Smith and Immanuel Kant\, this workshop will bring together scholars exploring the philosophical works of Kant\, Smith\, and the Scottish Enlightenment more broadly.</p>\n\n<p>We especially encourage the submission of papers that discuss the connections between Kant and Smith\, highlight the under-appreciated writings of Scottish women thinkers\, or investigate our theme's relation to the topics of race and slavery.</p>\n\n<p>Please submit abstracts of 350-500 words to newyorkcityearlymodern@gmail.com</p>\n<p>by December 8\, 2023 for consideration.</p>\n\n<p>For more information\, visit nycearlymodern.weebly.com.</p>\n\n
